Inspiring allotment report for The Royal Parks
We've created a vibrantly colourful report, showcasing the work of The Royal Parks allotment programme.
In 2007 The Royal Parks, along with various supporting partners, opened the St James’s Park allotment promoting organic vegetable growing, sustainability, history and wildlife conservation. Supporting many of London’s other initiatives involving the public in gardening and healthy living schemes, the site attracted hundreds of visitors and hosted community events, provided an outdoor classroom, inspired community groups in their learning, and managed individual and corporate volunteers who helped maintain the grounds.
As the three-year programme came to an end in November 2009, DogStar Design were brought on board to create a report that reflected the nature of the project, showcased the work involved, the achievements and what it means for the future.
The report is populated with rich photography supplied by The Royal Parks and quirky illustrations. Lou Lauwerys, Senior Designer and illustrator at DogStar stated: "The allotment project was a lot fun to be involved in and the report had some serious statistics that we brought to life so they were visually interesting and as engaging as the scheme itself."
Nicole Marinho, Marketing Executive of The Royal Park’s said “The St James’s Park allotment was a fantastic project that focused on encouraging local community groups and schools to grow their own fruit and vegetables. We are really pleased with the report which DogStar has created and believe that it illustrates the essence of the Allotment project perfectly.”
Discussions to create a summary leaflet available to the public are currently occurring.
