A successfully delivered elections campaign

As votes are still being counted, we reflect on our elections campaign for Islington Council.
We started by creating an iconic and energised identity for Islington that represented the borough’s diversity and youthful appeal. Colours were bright and key messages topical and emotive.

There were key phases of the campaign that aimed to encourage registration, understand, engage and prompt voting, whereby messages and channels of communication were tailored for best effect.

The campaign also had to communicate internally, as staff were informed of the procedures the Council has to adhere to during the course of the elections and encourage their participation too.

Posters, flyers, web banners and balloons, our favourite was the media stunt that took place on Saturday and Tuesday before the elections, whereby volunteers dressed up as the icons we had created to hand out voting information – it looked great and was received well.

We just await to hear the results of the number of people who registered and voted in the borough, but are confident the campaign has made an improvement on numbers from last year – it was an exciting campaign to work on!
